Tax and accounting work tailored to your business
Before work begins, we discuss the type of business, the flow of documents and previous returns. We also identify the company’s contact people and decision-makers.
What to prepare for our first conversation
This will help us define the work involved and the documents needed for the handover.
- Basic company details, its legal form and a description of its business.
- When the company started operating and who currently keeps its accounts.
- The approximate number of documents, along with information about employees and international transactions.
- Details of any overdue work, missing records or letters from the authorities.
Changing accountants or catching up on your books
If records are incomplete, we start by identifying what the company has available. We agree separately on ongoing services and work relating to earlier periods.
An invoice list alone is not always enough to assess a matter. I explain what additional information is needed and what can be done using the available documents.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take over a company’s accounts during the year?
Yes, once we agree on a handover date and establish which records are available. Before we start, we check which returns have already been prepared and what information needs to be transferred.
How do I help when the previous accountant has not provided all the documents?
We first establish which documents and information are available. Only after reviewing them can we define the work needed to complete or reconstruct the accounts and its cost.
Do my ongoing services also include putting earlier years in order?
We agree separately on work for earlier periods. This makes it clear which tasks relate to current accounting and which need additional analysis and a separate quote.
