Questions and answers
Before we start working together
Key information about getting in touch, the support available and preparing your documents. If you cannot find your answer here, tell me about your situation.
Do I work with clients throughout Spain?
Yes, including the Canary Islands. We agree on support based on the location and type of matter. For procedures requiring personal attendance, we also agree on how they will be handled.
Do I provide services in Polish?
Yes. We communicate in Polish, including when discussing documents and tax returns. I explain what the Spanish forms and procedures relevant to your matter are for.
Do I handle individual tax returns and administrative procedures?
Yes. You can ask about a single matter or ongoing services. Before starting, we confirm exactly what the work covers and the fee.
How do I determine the cost of working together?
The cost depends on the scope and complexity of the matter, the number of documents and the period they cover. We agree on the fee after discussing your situation. Additional work, such as putting earlier years in order, is discussed separately.
What information do I need in the first message?
Describe what you need, which location the matter concerns and whether there is a deadline. For a business, say what it does; for a property, give its location and how it is used. You do not need to know the form names at this stage.
Do I need all the documents at the outset?
No. Start with a short description of your situation. We will then agree on the documents needed to assess the matter and how to send them.
Do I take over from another accountant?
Yes. We agree on a handover date and the documents needed from the previous firm. We first check existing registrations and the status of your returns.
Do I help bring overdue returns up to date?
Yes. Tell me which periods are involved and which documents you have. After reviewing them, we will agree on the help available, the next steps and the cost.
What information do I need to deal with a letter from an authority?
In your first message, say which authority sent it, what it concerns and what deadline it gives. We will establish which documents need reviewing and whether I can help.
Do I work with non-resident apartment owners?
Yes. I help identify obligations arising from property ownership or rental and prepare the agreed returns, including Modelo 210 where applicable.
Do I determine tax residency solely from a residence document?
No. I consider residence matters and tax residency separately. Assessing your tax situation requires information about time spent in each country, employment, business and your ties to those countries.
Do I guarantee a particular decision from an authority or an amount of tax?
No. The outcome depends on the rules, the established facts, the documents and, where a decision is required, the authority’s assessment. We agree on the work, and I explain which matters need confirmation. Preparing a return requires complete and accurate information.
Do I help with diploma recognition in Spain?
Yes. I help identify the appropriate procedure, prepare the application and gather the documents. The scope depends on the type of education and the purpose of recognising the diploma or qualification. Support may also include responding to requests for additional documents.
Do I help with Beckham Law matters?
Yes. I check the conditions and the deadline for opting into this tax regime and help prepare the documents and application. It is not available to everyone who moves to Spain.
How do I help people who do not know which service they need?
Describe the problem in your own words. You do not need to know the names of forms or procedures. Explain what you want to resolve. If you have received a letter from an authority, mention its subject and the response deadline.
